20 Most Asked Questions from Online Customers

1. I bought 2 Day shipping and my order did not arrive in Two Days. Why? (This question can also be asked of Next Day Shipping as well)

***The Biggest Secret in the Corporate Shipping Industry is the American Public's Perception of their Speedy-On-Time-Never-Late-Delivery.

a) Unfortunately, Real Time Shipping does not work quite like we all have been led to believe from snappy television commercials. Sometimes, The Shipping Carriers just do not live up to publicized or advertised expectations. What they advertise through Promotion is just that, 'Perception'. In addition, the advertised 'perception' never considers the shipper's time frame, only the Carrier's. Very few companies actually ship the same day a transaction takes place. Many companies ship somewhere between 2 to 7 days when ground rate is involved. 2nd Day Shipping only means 2 Day Delivery after it leaves the shipping dock.

b) Another mistaken perception is that Web-Stores ship all products from just one location. Not so. Today's business market sometime involves many people on a national scale, just to ship one order. American Mystique® ships from Fergus Falls, MN, and many other places all over the United States. The shipping you purchased in the shopping cart can only be initiated from the time that item leaves the Shipping Dock.

Sorry, no one retailer is able to guarantee the advertised 'Perception' the major Shipping Carriers want you to believe.

c) Order Processing and Transmission, and d) the speed of the Shipping Department.

Your order will indeed ship 2 Day Delivery or Next Day, but exactly 'when' Your Order leaves the Dock is up to the individual Shipping Department. Plus, sometimes other Warehouses are using the same shipping process and dock area. And then there is the weather to consider….

2. “I ordered a jacket from you some time ago and it has not arrived. The Tracking Number says it should be here by now, but I have not seen it…”Not Good!

A) The package has been delivered and immediately stolen at the doorstep.

B) The delivery person made a mistake.

C) Package is lost. Once in a great while, a package can turn up missing or delivered to the wrong address, but this is still a rare occurrence. Most of the time, ‘walk-a-way theft’ is suspected. Signature on delivery really helps prevent this. All shipments are insured and tracked, but when one has not arrived you need to let us know. We can track it from the other end. If a package does come up missing the shipping companies are usually very good at redeeming claims and we will get you a replacement as soon as possible. Without Signature required though, redeeming issues are becoming much more difficult.

3. "My Credit Card was charged before the item was shipped. Why was this done? Some stores do not charge you until the item is shipped."  Stated Simply: To prevent Fraud and to prevent Hackers from gaining access to Your Information. Look at the situation just recently with several large corporations having their data banks hacked into over the last holiday season. Millions of Card Holders became sudden risks for later fraud. So American Mystique choose to abide by Credit Cards Companies advice to protect its customers as best it could.

4. "If I just don't like it, can I return it?" U.S. Customers Only— Yes, even if you don't like it, You can return the item. However You need to request a Return Authorization Number to initiate and complete the Return. You have 10 Days from Receipt of Merchandize (Delivery) to decide if you want to keep or exchange a jacket for a more suitable size, plus you need a Return Authorization Number issued to you by American Mystique. Please Read Our Customer Service Section to fully understand our Merchant Policies regarding Returns, Refunds, and Exchanges.

5. Customer: "I sent my purchase back to you and Your Shipping Department Refused to Accept It and it came back to me! Why was that?" Question: Did you contact MyBomberJacket.com and obtain a Return Authorization Number and Obtain Permission to return your purchase?

MyBomberJacket.com does not accept unsolicited packaging without knowing why and what it is. You need to place that RA Number on the top of the box when you ship it. Otherwise, it will be automatically refused and sent back to sender. Many companies have this same Policy and it is not nothing new. Just follow the simple rules and you will be A-OK. We have this policy because a few individuals seem to think they want to send in a return 6 months or a year after they have worn it. Sometimes, we have folks sending us Product we do not sell such as dresses and kids toys. That is why we use an RA Number.

6. Are Real Navy Pea Coats Black or Blue or Navy Blue? What is the real color of these coats?

Actually, a genuine Navy Pea Coat is really Black, unless they are specified as a different color. However, you can call them Navy-Blue want. Both Terms are correct to use.

Today, The Official Naval Department Issued Official Designated Color for Manufacture Contract for the Enlisted U.S. Navy Pea Coat is ‘Traditional Black', ---not Blue-Black, not Navy-Blue, not Dark Blue. In fact, it has been since the Vietnam War Era. However, the Term, 'Navy-Blue' is still correct to use and this term is still used in the industry, but invoice paperwork will stipulate Traditional Black.

Some Imported Pea Coat Styles make the huge mistake in dyeing blue into the wool. I guess you could say the imports take the Blue in Navy-Blue far too seriously. So much so in fact that the general public 'thinks' navy-blue is the official color and it is hard to convince them otherwise. Still, the official color is Traditional Black. Once you really feast your eyes on one of these babies, trust us, you know you are looking at something special, the real thing.

The older and more often used term 'Navy-Blue' comes from the British Navy and was copied by American Naval Officers in 1775. The practice most likely comes from the Navy's use of different 'terms' to describe something most of us already have a name for. Like Bulkhead for Wall, Hatchway for Doorway, Gangway for Walk Way, Deck for Floor, Cover for Hat, Blouse for Shirt, Trousers for Pant, Port and Starboard for Left and Right, The Colors for The Flag, Blue-Black for Real Black etc., etc., etc. Look, everyone does it pretty much the same way, ---but then there is the Navy Way. It’s that simple.

7. I'm confused, why there is such a wide range of prices concerning Leather Jackets and Coats. Especially between the U.S. Made and Imported Leather Jackets?

Everything is relative, concerning the type of leather, its quality, and the particular Style of Jackets or Coat. Just like buying a Car, bells and whistles cost extra and raise the price. If the Bells and Whistles are present and the Price is still low – then you understand it’s an import of little value in the leather.

ut there are standard perimeters (guidelines) to follow when shopping.

***Any Quality U.S. Made Leather Bomber Jacket or Coat should retail for $250.00 or more, depending on style and Leather. If it’s consistently lower you should seriously suspect its true origin. Leather Prices have risen in the last year to new higher levels and U.S. Manufacturers and Factories are charging much higher Wholesale Prices. You should be aware that anything Leather 'claimed as U.S. Made' that is consistently far lower in price as opposed to their competitors, may have origins off shore and had a fake or fraudulent U.S. Label sewn on to fool the buyer. Also, they could be Seconds offered up with less quality. The Buyer must beware. What seems low priced is not always what we think or hope it will be. Just remember, with Leather, there is no gift horse to find.

***Second grade Imported Leather Jackets or Coats from China usually run from $50.00 range to the $299.00 range and are soon going to reach sticker shock levels. Unknown to the American Public, the Chinese in the past presented America with a huge Rebate Program that kept Chinese leather at low price levels. The Chinese used that scam to undermine and monopolize the leather markets in the U.S and Europe. Now that they have succeeded, that program has now ended.

There are some rare imported leathers that can range higher in price. U.S. Leather Jackets and Coats are usually much higher in their Quality and Durability. U.S. Leather is thicker and better tanning process. Many Imported Leather products, including Jackets and Coats are only made from pig-Nappa and referred to as 'Fine Leather', 'Quality Leather, 'Luxurious Leather', or just plain 'Soft Leather, or 'Nappa Leather'. These products are indeed purchased by the American Public and serve a need, but they are not as high in quality as U.S. Products. Caution: some overseas leather jackets can smell like goat urine when they become wet. Who will show you love then????

8. Question: "We Purchased a Product from you and we did not get a Receipt or any Confirmation in our email, yet, we have been charged for the item?"

Answer: "Something is wrong with the Email Address You provided during the Transaction, probably a misspelling or an Email-filtering-process."

---The Email Address You used on the Order form may be Incorrect! ---Your Spam Filter is throwing Our Email into Your Junk file, or it is being deleted by your Filter System. You must set your filter to receive our receipts and emails. We do not have the time to fill out Email-Spam-Filter-Questionnaires. However, you can email us and request a copy and we will be happy to send you another one.

9. How are B3 Shearling Jackets different from other leather jackets you sell?

Simply put, most Leather Jackets are made from Leather Hides separated from the hair, wool, and fat of the animal, then tanned and processed for garment production. Real Shearling is not separated from the wool. Shearling is the entire pelt turned inside out with the wool serving as the lining for the jacket or coat. The Wool or Shearling is never separated from the skin or hide.

Real Shearling comes from sheep. Takes a lot of sheep to make a Shearling Coat or Jacket, and requires intensive labor to produce a great product. Real Shearling is expensive. Referred to as 'Shearling or Sheepskin Shearling'. If it says Nappa Leather and wool Shearling inside, you are being scammed and you don’t want it. Reality Check: Pigs don’t fly, Pigs don’t Baaaa, and Pigs don’t grow wool. Real Shearling is quite expensive.

10. USA MADE! Does that mean 100% American Made, Including the leather?

Sometimes and Sometimes Not.

When any Product is Guaranteed 100% USA MADE, We post it as such. But not all USA Product is 100% USA MADE, or Guaranteed as such. Laws regarding such labeling are vague to say the least and some companies do take advantage of the USA Label. Consumers can thank the U.S. Congress & NAFTA Legislation for this, along with several other passed guidelines. A Question for you to ponder: "How many Goats & Horses are raised in the USA just for the leather hide market?"

A little Bonus Point: Most American's still think YKK Zippers are still manufactured in the good ol' USA. Not anymore. There is a plastic zipper still made by YKK in the U.S., but most are made outside the U.S.

11. Only 10 days from Receipt to decide if I want to Return or Exchange an Item? It used to be 30 Days! Why such a shorter time frame?

10 Days is more than fair and more than sufficient. Especially with this fine grade of leather. If you need 30 days to decide if you want to keep this high quality of product.....well, let’s just say we are not in the renting business.

12. I hate Back-Orders! Especially for Online Orders. Can You Please Explain Why?

Glad too! It is the Growing Pains of the Internet, my friend. The Internet is growing and so is Online Business. However, many Manufactures and warehouses are still running far behind the times. In addition to this, some warehouses are faster than others and some are downright slow. Back-Orders are a part of the Retail Life and they are not going to go away anytime soon. Sometimes we just run out of stock, and we all will have to deal with it the best we can.

13. "I think I hit the Submit Button Twice in the Shopping Cart, it says I was charged twice for the item."

Do Not Click on the Submit Button Twice, as You Will Be Charged Twice!

If this should happen, don't panic, just contact us as soon as possible by Email or Phone and tell us all about it. Our Records will also reflect the extra transaction and We Will Gladly Void that Extra Transaction for You and Send You that Voided Confirmation. Once that mistaken transaction has been voided, no one can re-take those funds.

However, Your Financial Institution may hold on to those Funds from that mistaken 2nd Transaction from 3 to 6 days, depending on the Bank's Policies. Each Bank is different. From time to time we have been requested by Customers to call these Banks to let them know there was No Transaction and that it had been voided. We no longer perform this request, as the Banks always notify us that our phone call to them makes no difference in the world on their Policy Holding Limits for those Funds. In short, the Funds are held by Your Bank, then re-instituted to you after a short time when no one comes to get them.

14. Why does MyBomberJacket.com refuse to ship to Motels, PO Boxes, Hotels, or to friends living in the USA?

Good Question and a simple answer. Theft and increased Credit Card Fraud.

That is why we ship to the Billing Address. Even if the card might be stolen, we aren’t shipping it to person trying to instigate the Fraud on you or us.

Usually, both run together in these scams and every Retail Store Online has experienced it at one time or another. Shipping Carriers demand a Physical Address. PO Boxes are highly suspect in fraud cases. So are Motels and Hotels. Unfortunately, some foreign individuals have started a practice of wanting delivery to a different site, only to skip out with the product and have the card holder issue a chargeback. Often these individuals want a Motel or Hotel as the delivery site. We have to protect ourselves and our Customers, and refuse such scams.
